Meet our New programme Coordinator for Computer Science 21/22
Anas Musah is a Lecturer and a Research Scientist with the Department of Computer Science in ReCAS with a strong background in mathematics and computing. His long-term goal is to share his knowledge with others which have seen him pursuing his PhD in Scientific Computing and Industrial Modelling with KNUST. His area of expertise is optimization, differential equations and programming, and their applications in biomathematics, dynamical systems, machine learning and vehicle routing problems. As a result, he researched topics including modelling of infectious diseases (i.e. disease modelling) and optimization of a fleet of vehicles for solid waste collection.
He is passionate about software development to solve problems and implement solutions. When he is not developing and building things, you can find him on Youtube learning, watching movies, and jogging. But most of his days are spent working on projects while listening to slow background music. He has hands-on experience in the use of data analysis software (SPSS, R, Python), academic writing software (Mendeley, Latex) and programming languages (Matlab, Java (Android), C, and C++. ). Anas is an ardent believer in mentoring students and community service, and also a protagonist for the maturation of younger brains in STEM.
