Dear Members, Partners and Friends of the ReCAS-Family,
The year 2020 was a very long one characterized by turbulences of all forms. Every aspect of the human society had to strategise and re-strategise to meet the challenges of every week and every month; many a young people had to change their decisions on career development or at least postpone them and institutions made losses and gains in various forms. The World went through unusual times. ReCAS, you and I were part of it.
The College saw changes in various forms. At the end of the day, we got to the point of filtering and prioritizing of issues, sieving and repackaging of the things that make ReCAS what it is supposed to be: The good old structures are being strengthened to empower us to deliver to our best; new programmes have been developed for accreditation in order to expand our base as a College of Applied Science and to reach out to many more customers; the Memorandum of Understanding with Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Tallahassee/USA has been signed and nine students from ReCAS are undertaking their exchange programme there in FAMU.
All these could not have been achieved without the collective efforts of all of us. I express my gratitude to the Board of Directors, College Council, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff and Students, who have worked relentlessly in various ways to bring us this far, all by the grace of God.
The same level of gratitude goes to our Partners, who have maintained belief in us and continued to support us despite various difficulties they might have faced in the wake of the Covid 19 pandemic. A very heartfelt thank you to each and every one of this big team.
As noted, a lot of drastic changes have taken place and will continue to be undertaken to ensure that all departments and faculties will meet the targets set for them and be productive and deliver efficiently. All these changes were/are necessary to ensure that ReCAS stands out as a Pacesetter in the provision of quality but affordable tertiary education in Ghana.
With its motto of “Promoting Talents”, ReCAS has set up structures that will ensure that it is customer oriented thus sharpening its human-centeredness to become a first choice Institution.
For the activities that will be rolled out in 2021, efforts and resources will continue to be placed in such areas that will help the institution to fulfill its core mandate. What do we do look for in the coming year(s)? We will look for growth, stability, increased teamwork and strengthening of internal structures for both students’ parliament and the Institution as a whole. The new outlook is already shown by the new website www.recas.edu.gh.
Dear Members and friends of ReCAS-Family, you are part of this forward-looking institution that strives to provide quality education at the doorsteps of the under-privileged in Society, however, with an entrepreneurial outlook and mindset – which we must all begin to orient our minds to.
Our competence-based teaching and learning combine Know-How with Do-How, thus making our products competitive, wherever they find themselves.
Join us as Financier, Donor, Volunteer, Educator, Administrator, technical staff or as a Student and let us change the World. If we don’t dare it to cause a change, who will do it? I think No One but WE.
Thank you very much for being a part of ReCAS.
I wish you all a Happy New Year 2021! May God bless you all with long life and good health.
Rev. Dr. Moses Asaah Awinongya SVD
